Accelerated EMT Class

The Fire Academy of Kentucky offers a 4-week accelerated EMT class each July. To be eligible to enroll in this class, the student must be a graduate of a previous Recruit Class at the Fire Academy of Kentucky, or officially enrolled in the immediate upcoming class.

This is a very fast-paced class with several chapters, skills and topics covered every day. The class is Monday-Friday, from 0800-1700. Students must meet a minimum score or they will not be permitted to sit for the National Registry Exam. This class does not offer any ride time or clinical time, although it is HIGHLY recommended that ride time of some kind be completed with a local agency upon their return.

Cost will be $300 or less per recruit for fees not associated with the Kentucky Fire Commission or The Fire Academy of Kentucky. All other costs, including meals and lodging will be provided. Lodging is optional for the EMT class.

Reservations are only accepted from a Chief or Training Officer on behalf of the recruit.
